I am looking for some kind of instructions on how to adjust the camber plates on a Ground Control race kit for an E36.

Loosen the 3 nuts on top and move it. Should be very simple.

So, jack the front of the car up, loosen the three outside nuts, and slide it in?

I had the car aligned recently to a neutral street setting, and the camber positions are not at the CL mark. So, do I need to move each side an equal amount or both just all the way in? Then do I need to carefully mark the current positions so I can return it to the same setting after the event?

Sorta depends on how much camber you want to have...hard to know exactly what to recommend since we don't know the exact setup of your car, etc. Would have been a good idea to have the alignment shop mark a "street" and "track" setup on the plates for you while they had it on the alignment rack. Be aware that you'll also be adding toe-out, which makes the car turn-in better but tends to make things more unstable as well (particularly on the street).

For the autox track, I am going for max neg camber ~3 deg.
I am definitely compromising slightly from a "perfect" or "ideal" track setup in terms of toe because I wanted to minimize street wear on this, my daily driver. So, When I push the camber in front to the max, I should get a pretty good setup for autox, but not kill my tires when I pull it back for the drive home. At least that is what I hope based on my research.
