I was just messing around building some 3 series sedans on BMWusa.com and noticed this new feature. Anyone here have it? Is it similar to the ZHP or Performance Package offered with the E46? It didn't seem there was a HP increase or anything...just different bumpers and some other cosmetic deals? :confused

it is what it is...
If you want more power, buy an M3
btw, it's a brand new option

Cosmetic only, does everything the sport package does, and adds rear park distance control. Pretty nice looking though. Also comes with Pilot Sport PS2 run-flats, which are quite a bit better than the RE050's.

so nothing like the ZHP... :( It appeared the shifter was different on the inside with the package as well, but I don't think its got a short shift kit, as I'm sure they would have mentioned that.
I agree, it does look nice, but I'm not sure if it really is worth the extra $ over the sports package. I guess I have to see the two cars side by side...

It is very similar to the ZHP except for the fact that there is no HP bump, its the same M style knob form the ZHP, it has an anthracite headliner and more aggressive sport seats, also the tires are Michelin PS2's and not run flats, from what I was told the other day at the dealership. I am thinking very highly about buying one, I like the styling cues and the wheels are very nice.

If I am not mistaken, the ZHP has a more aggressive suspension, but the M package has the same sports suspension, or I am mislead?

I believe you're correct, my salesman described it similar to the ZHP and that is how they will market it, as another step closer to the M but still 20k less! He also told me there is a new performance suspension on the way for the BMW Performance line, in fact it's already on the website. The big thing to me is the regular tires, has BMW seen some sort of light?

That pkg is all cosmetic. Nothing to upgrade suspension/brakes/engine. Their performance line of products will soon release, better to purchase ala carte.

If I am not mistaken, those are the PS2 RFTs, even Michelin now is on the RFT bandwagon. They are however supposedly quieter than the Bridgestones.

The sport seats are the regular sport seats from the sport package

ZHP also had a shorter final drive ratio.
The PS2's on the M-sport package are run-flats, but they're significantly better-performing than the RE050's. Downside is they'll probably wear even faster.

Hmmm, I am a little disappointed that the PS2's are of the run flat variant, and I have now see the same treatment is available on the 328i so I am less impressed with this, however I like it better then the dealer add on "aero package" so I may still grab one when the time comes.
