3M stopped making the Rust Avenger. However, I would like to take care of a tiny rust chip on my hood and another just under the M3 badge.
Neither is bubbling or going through.
Any other advice would be appreciated!!

Rust Mort, available locally works like a champ. I'm not sure if it's available in the USA but I'd go to an autoshop and see what they had. The chemicals used in all those type of products would probably be quite similar I'm thinking.

Loctite's "Extend" is a rust converter.
8 oz.
Converts rust to black coating
Prevents future rusting
Can be sanded or painted with primers, lacquers and oil based paints
Cleans up with water

Or Rustoleum brand Rust Reformer, available at most auto parts stores & hardware stores.
I think reforming is better than avenging anyway. Can't we all just get along?

Have you tried EvapoRust? I've used it for a lot of applications. Nothing to do with a car, but it's been very useful for a lot of heavily rusted pieces of metal that I've needed to clean up. It's relatively non-toxic IIRC the MSDS.
