what are some good cheap tires for 17" rims. I know there are Kumho Ecsta 712's.. Anything else in that price range, $100 a tire would be great. If anyone is selling a set of 4 tires that are pretty new, also let me know, thanks.

Dunlop W10's: These are very comfortable tires, but they won't offer as much grip as some others. They ride great though.

Yoko A520s: These are pretty good tires. Probably a little more tread depth than the kuhmo's

Pirelli P7000: you're probably into the $150-$160 range, but these are superior tires.

Good Luck,

I've heard that Falken is pretty cheap too, performance-wise they may be comparable to Kumho. Can't say for sure.

I tell ya, I love my Kumho 712s! Cheap and grippy wet or dry. Not the best performance tire out there, but they're really inexpensive, quiet, and offer very good performance.

I put (2) Kumho 712's on the front of my car last month. They work great! I plan to put a set on the back too.
I checked out the customer comments at Tire Rack.com
That made me decide to try the Kumho's. It seems everyone loves them.
As mentioned, they are not as sticky but they last 25k or so. My car is a daily driver and I don't feel like spending $600-$700 per year keeping sticky tires on the car.
Lose in performance, gain in mileage...

I just put Kumhos on the front of my car 225/40/18's, I like them so far and they were cheap, which makes me like them even more. They are quiet and are supposed to last long, I don't need sticky tires on a daily driver.

Dunlop Sport W-10! I have them and they're AWESOME!

I've ridden on Yoko A520 and Michelin Pilot MX*something...and those weren't really all that great....

Price for mine was $125, but now I think they're down to $115 or something, shop around

You can get the Sumitomo's for 108, and I love them. You can get the Nitto for like 95. I had them as well, and they are okay for the money, but for only a few bucks more... I reccomend the Sumitomo's

I've had the 712's for almost 9 months and they are great for the price. I would not use them on the track but for daily driving it is more than adequate. They are alot quiter than the W10's I had before and they seem to have better wet traction. Treadware is also good. The W10's I had before started to cup.

Bought mine from a shop in VA... sorry, don't remember the name. It was in Alexandria, some small place. I'd bet a million dollars they don't have website.
