Got a 92 525i manual, normal suspension.

Will be putting in some lowering springs this or next week. Don't know what but probably Eibach's because of $

How bad would it be to keep my existing shocks? I just put new KYB's in the back a couple months ago.... but the front I haven't touched.

Also, I know I'll only get 1"-1.5" lower no matter what, but what else can I do to improve the drop on a BUDGET and where do I get it? I read here that some of you changed your spring pads? Can someone tell me more about this, what to get, where to get it, and how much $ roughly it would be, etc?

Any other help would be much appreciato!!

go Vogtland if you can find them, but if not I have heard great things about HR. You might as well replace the struts while you are in there. as far as the spring pads, they are 3mm upper spring pads, they were available on m5's, you should be able to get them front the dealer, and definitely off of pelican parts' website

ive had eibachs with stock shocks and then later bought some billie sports i now have vogts still with the with bilstein sports and 3mm pads....same drop... others will argue this, but fact of the matter is on my car there was no difference in ride height....as far as im concerned the only way to get the ride height you want is to go for a full on coilover kit...which maybe a little wild for most.
my advice is to get either the eibachs or the vogts whatever you can lay your hands on. I would avoid KYB's like the clap. Ive heard nothing but bad

so you feel that you've got the same ride height with both? what's the difference in ride quality/comfort??

also, what's the story with the KYB's? what happens?? i bought them thinking they were good shocks.... dammit!

and could you tell me more about these 3mm pads? i asked in an above post --> what is the actual part, what car is it from, and where do i get it? is it a stock 1992 m5 part, or is it for the 525i? is it plug-n-play?

can u also post or send me a pic of how your car sits???

thanks man

did you get the kyb stock replacements or the sport ones? the sport ones are supposed to be way too stiff. KYB--Kill Your Butt
as far as difference in ride quality between the vogts and the eibachs? none that I can tell. and I had the eibachs for about a year or so and then swapped in the vogts because i wanted to go lower...whaddaya know same ride height..oh well time for coilovers. the spring pads are plug and play you can get them from autohausaz.com check under suspension or something and just look around for spring pads..the 3mm one obvs. its an M5 part or something but it works for lesser E34s
heres my car with eibachs and then with vogts
