I've been researching tires and was considering the HTRZ IIIs until a few people here and there said they loose their grip at ~5k miles.
Can anyone out there attest to this? I don't want to buy them thinking they are so great brand new then have them die at 5k miles..
Thanks

When/where did they lose grip? Many times on the forums you have consider who is posting the reviews.
"I bought this tire and when I was driving to the grocery store it lost grip"
Link or details from those that said grip fell off?

ive had them for about 7k abd i do push them and they have not just "lost grip" at all
So much misinformation is spread on forums. I have them and couldn't be happier with their performance, looks, and price.

Take a look at the Kumho SPTs as well.

Price per dollar... they do fine.
However, what bugged me was the marketing that claims they are a maximum performance summer tire. After 7k miles the grip fell off considerably and in my opinion returned them to the ultra high performance tire segment. The grip wasn't as good as say a comparable tire in the max performance tire category i.e. Michelin and Bridgestone.
All that being said, they also cost half as much, so it balances out.

Mine were sweet at 5K. Maybe after 5000 miles of drifting?!! I had track time on them as well ~50laps at WGI in the rain!!!

They are an excellent handling tire. They are not going to loose their grip at 5K. Will they handle repeated runs at a race track. For street driving in wet and dry they would be excellent.
If I can help with the tires let me know.

I have about 5K miles on these on my M5 and I am still very happy with them and their performance. I even rotated them left to right, since they are not asymmetric, something I have not been able to do with my tires in quite some time.

I used to sell the hell out of the II's and I am assuming the III's are a newer version? I always highly recommended Sumitomo tires.
