:( Please help I have a 1997 740il and have had it for about 9 months. The am and fm radio (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1215493#) was working on and off for a while but is now totally out. I did notice when it would go in and out the SB on the tape would get brighter and dimmer. CD player and steering wheel controls work perfect just silence when i switch to the fm/am or tape. I do have a factory phone but have unplugged the phone handset. Funny thing is I parked the car in the garage (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1215493#) for 3 months in the winter and disconnected the battery and when I reconnected the battery and pulled it out for the spring the radio worked perfect for about 5 days and the on/off and now nothing. I have been reading alot of problems similar but havent been able to find any solutions. I would appreciate any imput.

Have your battery and alternator tested firstly (autozone will do it for free). Also check the back of the cassette deck and make sure the antenna connector (circular black coax cable) is fitted right.
