You are not that far from one of the very best in the Nation - MINI's on the Dragon. I went last year, and it is well worth the drive. Here is the info (http://www.minisonthedragon.info/index.html)

we dont have very many of us mini drivers here in louisville. every time there has been any car enthusiast meeting i see maybe 2 other minis. most of them hang at the autocross on sundays.

I think you'll be surprised at just how many of you there are. I looked on the NAM site for a club near you, looks like the Louisville MINI Club (Bluegrass MINIs) is Kaput! You should consider starting one back up. Start at NorthAmericanMotoring.com, go here:

and put out a call for anyone in the area interested in resurrecting an active club. I bet you could get the local MINI shop to help (Stein Auto, Scott Hall Imports).
It's really easy if you get 2 or 3 people enthused about it. Looks like you already have 2......

The club in Indianapolis gets together regularly. Alot of times to eat, but they do have drives and track days too.

MINIplaooza schedule update:
SATURDAY Sept. 26th
9:30AM MINI MIGLIA drive starts in Old Salem in Winston-Salem, and will end up at Westbend Vineyards in Lewisville,NC. At the winery there will be live music, vendors, wine tasting , and winery tours. There will also be food available (see below)
SUNDAY Sept. 27th
8:30 Complimentary breakfast for MINI owners at FLOW BMW/MINI in Winston-Salem. After breakfast we will do a scenic drive up to VIR and we will get to do parade laps on the track during the noon racing break.
BY REGISTERING you will be eligable for the $10 per person lunch ticket that includes lunch and a glass of wine. BY NOT REGISTERING, you will have to pay $20 per person for lunch on the day of the event.
Either way, you will pay for lunch at the gate since Westbend Vineyards is taking care of all of this. HOWEVER you do not have to pay if you do not want to eat lunch, but trust me , the winery is out in the country and there's no other restaurant around for miles.
Go to the website for the link to registration, directions, detailed schedule and more: www.minipalooza.zoomshare.com (http://www.minipalooza.zoomshare.com/)
Also need raffle donations so we can do a raffle if possible. profits will benefit the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.
see ya soon,
