has anyone ever bought new tires and they had like a white powder on them? i bought new tires and they have like a white poweder on them stuck to the tires. i put soap and water in a bucket and washed them today but after they dried the white powder was still there. i rubbed it with my thumb and after a few rubs it comes off but i would be there for days rubbing it like that.am i the only one taht came across this?

They must be those new "snow" tires from Colombia -- Cocainzas.

It's probably the releasing agent used to allow the tire to come out of the mold when it's pressed during production. Either that, or they use some sort of talc-like substance on them during shipping and storage. Since it's not coming off easily, I'd wager the former. It'll wear off.

ya. look like wax release agent from molding the tires. try washing it with dawn dish soap. GL

Completely spray the tire down with product like Simple Green, brush the tire with a medium bristle brush, power wash the tire, then apply tire protectant. It may take a couple of times, but it will come off.
