ok so i may be in luck!! at the moment im very excited but the guy assures me the bits are mine!! Found a 525 being broken, after pseaking to the guy he has told me all the suspension was rebuilt less than 6k ago, he told me no expense was spared using oe or better parts, bilstein inserts etc. He says it is full M spec.
At the moment i have agreed on front strut assemblies, rear shock/spring assemblies and both sway bars and sway bar rubbers and brackets...
heres the killer, the whole lot is coming to me for £60 plus shipping fingers crossed please dont curse me.
This sounds like a great deal right? bearing in mind i need some new strut mounts.. .emr thats £60 immediately... i wanted a suspension upgrade and this package sounds liek the perfect start....
If i had more money id collect the car :P black leather sports seats, looks like mtech bodykit.....
wish me luck and any other comments on what else may be useful would be good

oo just realised, it was actually a 535.... not that it matters too much

well, the seller made some progress ripping the 525 apart...
so far rear assemblies appear good
front assemblies, he says 1 has a leaky shock and the top mounts are shot
also he cant undo the sway bars from the chassis, but is going back to the car tonight to have another go....
we'll see what the outcome is, seemd to good to be true :(

At least the springs should lower the car.

i have a spare set of struts already with one good top mount, not sure if they are the right type but i should be able to get together a good set...
hear back later i guess

Only thing i would wonder about is the front springs working on your 525. I thought they were different spring rates between a 535 and a 525 due to engine weight differences. Then again I dont know anything about the TD version of the car :)

That's a good point! Although I think I remember looking at eibach pro's and there was only one part number listed.....

right package arrived
:(
sway bars are not m tech, im talking 23mm and 15mm thats stock
rear shocks i cant identify any part numbers
front springs look in great condition, black, no visible part numbers, look about half a turn different to my standard springs? cant compare length as my spring compressors are still stuck o nthe old spring lol
the original ebay listing read as this; would it be wrong for me to expect 25/18mm sways?
M-tech front suspenion,struts,rollbars etc
M-tech rear suspension,struts,rollbars,rear beam

If things aren't adding up the seller is at fault. You need to contact him and let him know that he sold you a kit that was not what he listed it as!!

well the sways dont seem to be mtech and its very hard to determine if the prings/rear shocks are, according ot realoem the sport/mtech suspension should have 25 mm front 18mm rear, and using crude measuring i have it as 23/15 which according ot realoem is stock....
so with that in mind i can only assume the mtech suspension was added by somone along hte line not swapping sways... the seller seemed very helpful and genuine so im a bit loathe to fire an email off until im 100 percent certain, if i end up with a set of springs and rear shocks which are uprated/lowered im fairly happy, but i need ot confirm that either way before i spend a day swapping everyhting over :(
hmm
found the remnants of the spring part number
black springs, green printing, mostly destroyed, looks like 6 digits, howeve i can only make out 50% of hte 1st 3 characters, which could be any of 689 or 0's
i see bmw part numbers start with 808 so it could be right who knows.... grrrrr...but like i said they are 1/2 a turn different to mine.... suppose they could be ok
jsut double checked, front springs have half a coil less.....
just heard back from the seller, very apologetic and genuine:
Hi,
all the items were removed from an E34 535i sport reg no G******,chassis no WBAHD12050BF00993,on the options list it states it has the m-tech sports pack and sports suspension settings? so i cant understand why they are standard sway bars,
as for the springs and shocks there is no way i could really confirm apart from what it states on the options list from the dealers and that they came off an E34 sport model.
I am so sorry about this
Lee
I replied im more htan happy with the rest of the bits, of course i wont complain if he were to offer compnsation for hte useless sways lol but im not chasing it
