…Ok I know what you guys are thinking but this film was not to bad and worked really well with the original characters from the first one and the story and cars used were very nice as well. I just got back from screening this movie since I work at a local movie theater and thought to share a little and maybe hear your feedback…once and if you were to see it.
I would give it a 7 out of 10. The story was unique and the use of the original characters from the first movie was good. Now you might think that in this movie the cars are portrayed and imaged as “ricer” from the previous movies, but actually the main cars are modified quite nice but when they are in large groups of cars then the not so good looking cars come into play-which is not long. Some nice rides foreign (BMW E36, E46, E31 <--:redspot , Nissan Skyline GT-R, Acura/ Honda NSX :buttrock) and domestic (a lot of muscle cars :evil2). Also a line in the movie that is an interesting question would be as one of the characters stated, “Muscle beats foreign every time.” …interesting but is it true??

One of the main cars in the movie is a Gran National. You would be hard pressed to find a BMW or even a jap car that can be modified easily to trap 9s street legal with a baby seat in the back with the radio on. Mine ran easy 11s with very minor bolt-ons and slicks.

That's just a stupid statement. Depends on the car, mods, weight, displacement, condition....all kinds of factors.
FYI, you missed the E39 fake M5.

A '70 Chevelle SS w/LS6 4-spd would have a field day even as it rolled off the showroom floor in '70 with no mods. 454cu w/450hp, 500ft pds torque and a rock crusher 4 speed - Hello!

I loved the Gran National, I think it was proof that the 3800 was the best motor GM ever built. I had that motor in 4 different cars and it was pretty much bullet proof. Add a couple of turbos and it goes from sweet to wicked.

That is does, when it runs. I have had two decently modded ones. One T-Type and one GN. Both were the biggest POS that ever rolled on the street. Parts were WAY expensive and hard to find and the cars seem to be plauged with weird sensor/electrical issues that you would always have to chase. I remember chasing down a detonation problem for 6 months. NOBODY could figure out what it was. I basically spent thousands trying to get it sorted out. The issue did go away after a rebuild so who knows. Im still huanted by that car. If you put race gas in it on a cool day.......NOTHING on the street could touch it. Fun car but big POS. That being said. Id buy another one in a heartbeat, im a gluttin for punishment.

I saw an Escort Cosworth RS 2000 (probably getting the name wrong) in one of the ads... I was already looking forward to checking it out, but that put me over the edge. From the ads this one looks like it would be entertaining and slightly less cheezy.

are we talking straight line performance or overall driving experience?
"there's no replacement for displacement" comes to mind, if straight line

Sure, it's pretty hard to tell if a euro car is better than a domestic, because I don't recall too many euro engines bigger than 7 liters, but it sure seems to hold pretty true at the dragstrip.

I'll wait for it to come out on DVD, so I can sit through it and treat it like a comedy.

DVD is the right move in my eyes. I saw it last Weds april 25th for a free pre screening and I wasn't impressed. But like stated by others above, I thought there was a good selection of cars in it.
