What's weird about it? Looks like a normal Center Support Bearing to me.

I think he is looking at the bentley as for how to take it apart? Kinda sketchy instructions.

17mm in the middle of the flange, mark it for position first@@@ as it is balanced

turn a few times, pry apart, repeat until completely apart

I don't believe the E34 cars had a slip joint. Bentley shows one, but I think that is for the previous 5 series generation. As AE said, loosen that 17 mm bolt and the shaft will separate into two parts.

Right, the CSB isn't an issue, it's the slip joint not being shown as per the bentley. I was hoping to do the combo driveshaft with my e30 back half for an m30 swap.
