My rear tires are nearing the end of their lives. Tread is worn down and on one side the threads are starting to show. Hence I will be getting new rear tires maybe next week when I'm not busy with school. My question is - What are some good options for a 30k mile tire that is reasonably priced? My car mostly sees highway miles and I might auto x it this summer but for the most part it will remain a DD.

I tried searching but didn't find what I was looking for. Thanks for your input.

I would get Sumitomo HTRIII's from tirerack..they will last IF you don't spin the wheels a lot or lock up the brakes. Mine lasted 20k miles and that was even with the occasional burnout.

I agree. We did a tire test here and the HTRZ III was very good in both wet and dry. They are also a good wearing tire. You should be able to get 30K out of them depending on how you drive.
If I can help with the tires let me know.
