alternators bearings? mine sounds like that too. and i've narrowed it down to alternator, or the tensioner above it.

Sounds like your belt. Spray some wd-40 on the belt and see if it goes away. You might need to replace your tensioner.

Last summer I fixed a squeaking noise on my 328 (sounded very much like yours) by replacing the main and ac tensioner pulleys. I replaced one, was good for a month, then the other one went lol.

could be a lot of things
check the condition of the belt
check if theres any oil, grease, coolant etc on your pulleys
if none of that then its your pulleys
if they havent been changed you should actually do it for preemptive maintenance

Yeah I think WD-40 would make it worse. Try belt dressing or my favorite -- brake parts cleaner! :buttrock

The latter helped me when I accidentally contaminated my PS pump pulley when replacing the lines.

Good luck!

does it go away after its warmed up? usually if the belt squeals it will go away after the engine is warm

id try the belt dressing...ive heard it starts to eat the belt after a lot of usage so id fix it asap if you go that route

I had a similar squeaking and it was the water pump before the impeller separated.

Change tensioner pulleys (2). They are cheap and easy to replace... could be bearings in alt, or the tensioner may have to be replaced. I have had this noise, and put on a different alt... then changed the pulleys, and my noise went away.
