Easy to do a switch? I have decided on the reliablilty of my car I'm just gonna get the exterior mint and do up the interior.

I'm wanting to get sports seats with electrics but I want to know if its a simple as finding a plug that is ready to go or if there is some serious wiring involved?

i didnt know there was a model without power seats, but im assuming they didnt run the harness for them from the factory so it'll probably be alot of wiring work...

For some reason most people that bought E34s here in Australia didn't seem to go for the electric seats. It may have been an expensive option over here knowing the European Auto Market here in Aus.

I just hope for my sake you are wrong...but you probably are not.

My car had manual leather comfort seats w/ heated seat option. And I swapped to electric leather comfort seats w/ heat doing nothing at all. It was a plug and play swap.. pretty surprising as I'd imagined it would be complicated.

Check under your seat if there's a harness running under the carpet to the seat.. i'm guessing by your location you don't have heated seats

Yea check and see if you have any harnesses under the seats, driver's seat is probably easier to find. If you do then I'd say that its PNP. Check around for the EWDs and then see if you have power at the right pins on those connectors. I'd shy away from buying sport of memory seats unless you have prophetical gifts we don't know haha, but heated/power back/forth/headrest/back (the typical E34 seats) should work just fine.

Yeah I want proper OEM sports seats from another E34. Thanks guys I'll have a poke around under my seat. I have seen a wire under there before not knowing where it goes that I see when I clean up my interior.

Yeah, definatley no need for heated seats over here. It never gets to that freezing temp like in the UK over here. Like 16C is really the lowest during the day in Winter. Which is considered a warm Summers day back home.

Dude, I would trade heavy, pointless power seats for manual seats all day. Power seats suck.

I miss the leather, heated, manual seats in my 4Runner.

I just find that with electric seats its easy to just get that perfect position where as adjusting with manual seats its like a fish having sex, your just flopping all over the place.

Its also sports seats that I want. I hate how if the front two seats are not lined up the same the arm-rests show how out of line they are and its one of those things that annoys me greatly.

Power seats > manual

Or at least IMO, i'm always fine tuning my driving position while driving and it's way easier to do with power seats than manual.. I hate having to stop to adjust the position.

It's also a cool factor to have power seats in a 15 year old BMW :D At least where I come from.

When I've got the money to waste (not for a while) I will simply put a wanted advert in the Quokka (goods for sale / wanted paper in WA).
