I was T-Boned at an intersection by a red light runner. My son and I walked away banged up but not seriously hurt. My cherry 535i was totaled. I have some things for sale, I pulled out before the wreaker picked her up:
Origional cassett and 6 disk trunk mounted CD play. Newly rebuilt
Tan sun visors - Fog lights - clear corners -
Lower seat plastic covers for drivers side (tan)
New condition black rubber front BMW floor mats.
Let me know if you are interested in anything....email me at tvbunk@comcast.net
This car withstood a 40mph side impact. That's why they call them Little Tanks.

Sorry to hear, but glad these cars are so safe. Remember the guy a while back who flipped his car like 5 times and walked away? Makes me feel a lot better. Lets hope the insurance company does not undervalue your car.

Damn man I'm really sorry to hear that. You coming back to the E34 world? And have you considered buying back the car from ins? Those wheels and the M30 and some other parts could likely outweigh your few hundred $ loss.
Mind me asking what hit you?

The wheels look like regular BWs painted gold :dunno
But glad to see the E34 did it's job.

She was a 20 year old driver turned left in front of me as I entered the intersection. I swivered right to try to avoid but she kept on coming. Impact spun me around twice and rolled me backward about 100 feet into an other car sitting at the line to make a turn. She never come over to see if we were ok. I had to crawl out the other side and stood there with back pain. This happen on the 4th of this month and her ins already payed for her car at a cost of $7000. Her ins has settled with me for $4000 property damage and still pend on personal injury.....I think the 535 is one of the best BMW's ever made. Both engine and unibody frame. I will look for another one with the money....
I paid $75 at the local dealer for the Black Floor Rubber mats 6 months ago. I think $40 plus shipping is fair. Talk to me.....what do you think..... Hit me on my email later on today if you are interested. I do Pay Pal.

40 shipped for mats is a nice deal. Seems like both of you would benefit from that.
We'll find you another 535 Dave, you want 5 or auto?

+1 Sorry for your loss but the car sacrificed it's life for you and better that you survived than the car. Glad to hear you are ok - now, to pay hommage to your dearly departed, it is time to get another 'cherry 535i' that is currently being neglected and unloved and give it a home it deserves :)

I totally agree. I picked this one up from a one owner lady. Over 17 years she had put $16,000 in upkeep in the car. I printed all receipts and went through them. That m30 engine was cherry and ran like a race car....it's really a crying shame it happen, but it did save my son's and my life. If I had been on my Roadking, I would be dead....of course.
I will be looking for another one to recondition. I can't make up my mind wheather to buy it back from ins or let it go.....guess it depends on the price they want...If I get another one it will be an M series....5 speed.....fyi...

Wow. I had the EXACT same situation occur last August, outside of the spinning part where I actually slid for a few yards and you having it on the driver's side. Mine has very similar damage, but a little further back. According to the report the other guy was going 45mph and my e34 proved to be a concrete wall, decimating the e60 M5.
Glad you're fine!

(It's deeper than it looks and what really prevented it from crushing more was the battery location under the seat.)

Glad you're okay. You're right, these things are tanks! It makes me feel a lot better about driving one.
Yours was an auto right?

I'm sorry to hear about your accident. Losing something valuable because of someone else's negligence is always a tough pill to swallow.
Is the exhaust in good shape? I need a 535 exhaust system.

I don't think he has the car in possession (insurance took it and it sounds like he is not going to purchase back and part it), the parts he has listed he could have stated that they were post purchase items and kept them seeing that they were not truely the insurance company's property.

Holy cats, glad you and your son are okay.
Your poor car, though... what a trouper! Amazing how the windows aren't even broken. I'd expect a hell of a lot more damage from a 40mph impact.
That's an E34 for you -- selflessly giving its life for those of its occupants. :buttrock

I know.
I'm sure the OP can tell me whether he bought the car back or not.

As soon as the insurance give me a price to buy it back, I will probably part it out. The exhause is in good shape...the motor is excellent, no oil use between changes...transmission is solid and shifts smooth. I do want to sell the CD changer and origional radio. They have been rebuilt and in top shape...even the cassett for all you guys that have keep you tape collection...
