I am looking to replace my RTABs now as they are completely shot. I just got done replacing the subframe bushings and diff bushings. It is not a track car but it does get spirited driving. I was looking to get stock replacements with the shims that limit excessive movement as well. I thought about getting the softest urethane bushing but I absolutely want no squeaks and they all tend to start squeaking at some point.
So, has anyone used these little white shims? Any good? The only upgraded bushing I have used are AKG’s in the diff because I broke a diff bolt not too long ago and that was worth a little extra noise transmission so I don’t break another one.
Thoughts anyone?

I put them on my 1995 M3. My current rtab have 92,000 miles on them since adding the supports. Bushings are still in very good shape. They do make a big difference in how long the bushings hold up. Well worth putting on, Tony
Shims are a very good idea. I got mine from Vorshlag,

We really like our Delrin. You need to lube it. It performs way better than all other options except monobal. The shims are a small fix to a big performance problem. The urethane that I have seen is no better than stock. However, if you insist, I hear the E46 M3 is the stiffest.

For my e46 M3 I did the turner motorsports aluminium shims with new stock bushings. Honestly, I cant tell the difference, but overall i was impressed with the product.

bump, had a quick question.
would i need these shims if i bought the RE black rtabs? or are they only for OE bushings?

The shims only work with OE bushings. Aftermarket poly bushings have shims built into them already.

Do not get Rogue Engineering shims. They are too thin and on my E46s they were able to move around and would actually rattle. This made a horrible noise that took me forever to diagnose since I was under the assumption that shims wouldn't make noise. The noise was the worst when driving over small continuous bumps on the road as it sounded like my rear suspension was falling apart and the worst part was that it for some reason sounded like it was coming from the rear shock mount. Once my mechanic and I realized that the RE ones were too thin and wiggling around, we pulled them out and the noise was gone.
I ordered up a set of Vorshlag shims because of the fantastic quality that I've experienced from all of their products and advice and have now experienced no rattling, noises, or movement with the Vorshlag RTAB shims.
As you can see below there is clearly a difference in thickness between the two brands. Vorshlag on the left and RE on the right:
