that tach may show 8 grand, but it most certainly does not rev that high.. it shows the redline where the 325 is. that looks like nothing but a regular 3 series with an M3 body kit and badges. perhaps it has an S50 swap.. perhaps not. can you post some engine shots?

It's a real WBS vin M3 guys, its just had a hard life. I think its gotta be pretty rare...I've never seen another auto 95 coupe.

S50s only rev to 7250 stock IIRC...and:rolleyes

It's a long story, and yes I forgot to mention the car does have a PA rebuilt title. No liens, and its not stolen.

i only say this because my 323i had a 7k topend on the tach (yes it only revved to 6250 or something like that). I know the M doesnt rev to 8.

the seats are just normal seats, and the rear ones aren't bucket seats (which the m's are) and why does it just say m not m3? And the revs are different on m3's and the tack should have an m on it. do all the panels have the wbs vin or just the one from the windshield? its ok to say you have m3 parts and part out, but if that started as an m3 they did some reverse swaps over the years to make it a 325is with just an m on the back.

Karl S
03-06-2009, 05:59 PM
The seats are luxury sport seats, the rear seats are the same for M cars. It says M because it was repainted at some point and they just had that badge I guess. All the panels have the WBS, its a real M3 no bs.

Relax.

Newbs need to stop crapping on this thread, do a little research before you come in here saying it's not a legit M car.

OP: Seems like a good price for the car, good luck with the sale!

Drift3r
03-07-2009, 01:38 AM
Ok so if you want to settle the M car or not why don't you just post a f'n pic of the engine or even the front brakes??? i think that would take care of about 85% of the posts

additionally the thing most suspect about this is that the ignition switch is hanging under the dash and the "key" is sitting in the cup holder.

P.S. if your parting how much for the seats and panels? :)

jhstealth
03-07-2009, 01:59 AM
looks to be a good price, i cant beleive people were dobuting this being a real m3 considering why would you lie when your selling it for parts and even if it wasnt if it had all the same parts as an m3 then what would it matter you have the parts anyway. :rolleyes Good luck with the sale

the major issues are just the fact that I don't have a title and some minor body/interior work. It would make a good track car

I'm not sure what the big deal is, the OP is selling a parts M3 for $3,500. OBVIOUSLY its going to have serious issues, salvage or not its still a complete parts car. If you're worried about a clean carfax go buy a $8,000 M3, but to piss and moan over an M3 advertised for $3,500 is just stuipid.

Does WBSB mean anything to you??

Cobra Jet

Do you have any more (or better) pics of this M3 - such as the passenger side, trunk area, more interior shots (specifically speedo cluster) and under the hood?

Was the car used previously as a track car?

What suspension parts does it have, stock or aftermarket components?

How is the engine - any smoke upon start up, at idle or during driving?

How is the VANOS unit and valves - any noises upon start up, idle or while driving?

The CarFax that was generated by someone else shows numerous "rebuilt" titles - whether that was the same title transferred each time, or possible new re-issues - I'm not sure - however, does the vehicle retain all of the original BMW VIN # tags on the specific body panels such as: windshield VIN, driver side B-pillar decal, front hood, rear trunk lid, L&R doors, L&R front fenders, L&R rear 1/4's and the M3 ground effects? If it does not have all of the original BMW VIN's, can you please tell us if any of those panels then have BMW DOT-R VIN's (for original BMW sheet metal replacement)?

Can you get a title for this vehicle - seems based on the CarFax, a title was issued each time - just curious if YOU or the PRIOR OWNER can get another title - which would make the sale. Was/is the title just lost - or??

How is the auto trans, do you know if it functions 100% (in every gear, including when the economy and sport manual mode is selected), or does it have drivability issues?

For those who don't know, yes, E36 M3's did come in an automatic form - and no, not all were "Luxury" models... I had a prior 95 auto M3 and it was complete w/ the sport Vader interior, proper M3 ground effects, etc, just as it was built from the factory.

I know the car needs work - it "is what it is" as you stated and seems to be a decent deal on an M3 that needs alot of work, but if you could just please post up any more info or pics for potential buyers, it would be helpful to those of us trying to make a decision. Some are looking at the potential into possibly fixing it and using it as a driver, regardless of the "paper issues".

Also curious, would you be open to any trade offers or strictly a cash sale?
