I need some knowledge on valves.

I have a '93 325is that is making some valve noise. I was pretty certain that my cars valves auto adjust. I changed the oil with Mobil 1 5w-30 and it is still making that noise. The noise is not crazy loud and it only occurs when I'm at idle. But how can I fix this? Would I have to re-place the hydraulic lifters?

my buddy just adds more oil than what you're supposed to, and that shuts his car up.

not much more. half a litre, or so... dunno how good that is for it, either.

I thought about doing that to. But only because I used to do that when I had my crappy Audi 90 Quattro. That was as my second car that I just did stupid off road stuff in.

Try some Marvel Mystery oil, over fill the oil by about a half liter.. Meaning, add a half liter of MMO once youre all full. Also, you can try using a heavier grade oil if that doesnt work.
