I have a 2000 E39 528i. When I fill the car with fuel, it does not want to start as quickly as it should. If I give it some gas and pump the throttle, it will start within 5 seconds or so. This only happens when I fill it up. After that, it starts just fine. Any ideas what could be causing this issue? If the tank were low and I had this problem, I think I could track it down, but only on a just filled tank at the gas station?

Just a guess, but when you fill the tank and take off the cap, you release the pressure in the tank. Although, I don't see how it would majorly affect the car.

Just a guess.
