ok. I just replaced the spark plugs in my 93 325is. I put bosch plat +4 in it. i did them 1 at a time so i wouldn't mix the wire's up. I got them all in and everything, and now wen i start the car up it smoke's. it's really weird. i dunno what the hell could be causing it to do this. what in god's name?.
another thing. number 6 thru 2. the old spark plugs that where screwed in the head where sitting in a puddle of oil. the plug wires where drenched in oil. i clean em all off b4 i put em back in. anyone know what the heck is going on here???? HELP PLZ QUICKLY

sounds like the oil that was sitting on the plugs got into the cylinder when you removed them. You definitely need a valve cover gasket.

bad valve cover gasket, dude. When a valve cover gasket is bad,
oil drip out the upper part of the motor, and also oil will get into the spark plug tubes.
It is not difficult to replace the valve cover gasket by the way.
bet the oil dripped onto your cylinders and your car burned it like it was fuel. hence the black smoke.
BTW, 4 prong spark plugs are the worst things you can put in any car. They crap out quick and don't do their job well from the start.

ok oil did go in the spark plug hole's, but the smoke aint black, lol.. it's stopped smoking as much now. it's just a very weird smell coming out the exaust now. so you all think that's what it is? the oil went into 5 of the cylinders. you all 100% positive it's that? i'm like freaking out here. the car don't run any different at all really. it seem's to run ALOT better really.

So what do you recommend? what would be the best performance plug to put in it?

You realize you still need to change the valve cover gasket right? The oil that had built up in the spark plug holes drained out probably eliminating misfires -temporarily. As you drive oil will fill back up in those holes and it will start to miss and run like crap again. Have you checked your oil level now?

omg, you've seen them fall off? that's horrible. I thought they just start firing on one or two prongs and that's as bad as they get. I can't believe they still sell them.
back when i was young, stupid and had a chevy cavalier.. i put those in my car. the engine was acting funny after 2,000 miles.
+6 to NGK single prong'ers. They work great on everything i've owned.
BTW changing your valve cover is kind of cool as a newb.. you get to see the inside of your engine without the risk of screwing things up.. :)

All of these are BKR6E referenced, not BRK6E - there is also a BKR6EIX reference. Which one of these is it that you think is best:

PS, I also used the +4 back when I was young and dumb - I learned the hard way.....

Well everything is fine now. i actually like the plat 4s, and I don't drive my car like it's a drag car. Thanks for the advice from everyone. next time I wanna waste 40 on spark plugs I'll make sure to get NGK.
Also my valve cover is new. I must have placed the plug hole sealers in wrong. So today I'll take it back off and do it right. I just love doing same crap 2 time's.

...those bosche platinum +4s are more expensive than any NGK i've ever bought. when i got them i spent like 70 bucks on them. biggest waste of money ever.

been there :)
LOL @ this thread.
I've used Bosch Platinum 4x4's -- those were awful
Then I switched to 2x2's -- those were terrible
Finally I wised up and got some NGK's at $1.87 apiece and they're awesome! :buttrock
