My car finally sounds like a V8!

Took off the original muffler and res.

Love the rumble

Shows that you don't really need to spend thousands for a good sounding exhaust system!

Yes, i kept the y res on. i figured if i took it out and put in a straight pipe, my exhaust will sound like a honda with a fart can...not what im looking for.

It is noticeably louder than the stock muffler but i love the grunt and rumble, the 540 finally sounds like it's a V8 beast.

When I first installed it, the tips looked MASSIVE! seriously they are big, but i've gotten used to them now!

i don't notice any droning inside the cabin except for me trying to emulate the sound with my mouth :D

and man...it sounds so good in a tunnel.

nah, must be the angle of the shot. it's centered in real life.

thanks. yeah, the price/quality ratio is unbelievable. i just can't justify spending thousands for an exhaust system when great results can be done with little effort and money.

Any issues with cutting a piece of your bumper out? How much did the job cost?

no issues at all. i was gonna cut it myself but i didnt trust my cutting skills. :shifty My indy just used a dremel and the cut was done in less than a minute. he's done other bumpers before. the whole process cost me under $300 including the muffler.

i think this has to be one of the best and cheapest mod to get done with. I highly recommend it. :buttrock

Best bang/buck for v8's by far.
A no-brainer mod.

Nice execution!

If you don't mind me asking:

What kind of Magnaflow Muffler is it?
Do you have a link to their site?

It absolutely WON'T as long as you have the stock catalytic converters on. It might sound more like NASCAR than you're looking for though! :D

The entire process, including the muffler and installation, cost me less than 300.

Yes, it's possible to DIY. There's someone in these forums who did that. I'm just not a welder by trade and I didn't want to risk botching the job. I just had a professional do this once and never worry about it.

If you do decide to DIY, this would be one of the best mods to do for less than $150.

It's the Magnaflow 14816 street series
