go to autozone, rent an o2 sensor replacement set ($25 deposit), then purchase an extension and rachet (if you don't have one). I did it for the first time a few days ago and it took me about an hour. i returned everything after i was done. fairly simple, don't be afraid to work on your car, and you may end up bending the heat shield near sensor 2 if you're not careful. but you can always bend it back. this is relatively easy and you're a chump if you cop out on it so get to work!

I have just been told because it is automatic that you must remove exhuast to replace the pre cat sensors, ( I hope thats not the case )

I'm not sure about the i6, but that doesn't sound right. Who told you that?

Mine is a I6 auto and changed them a couple of weeks ago .. no need to remove anything except the sensors themselves ..
