I paid $ 440.00 including shipping from BAV Auto for Bilstein Sports all the way around the 540.
I would reccommend these over the Sachs, especially due to the life time warranty.

I don't think they are that price any more. They are $500 plus aren't they? I'd recommend them over the Sachs too. Get with me if you'd like a set.

Hey Awise1961.....did you just keep the stock sport springs when you put on your bilsteins? If so, did you notice if the front end ride height rose at all? Also, how do you like them and how do they compare to the original sachs....my 99 540i sport has 75xxx miles and thinking of getting some bilsteins soon but have heard they can raise the front end sometimes?

If done properly they will not raise the ride height.

I'll let Al reply on the ride. A search will reveal I love the ride of the HDs, no need repeating myself.
