No!

Just put the open end wrench on the inner side, don't nipcut the rubber boot and place a socket/drive on the nut and tighten it SUPER tight. A 1/2" drive/socket is awesome, but 3/8" is fine so long as you make sure it's really tight and not simply spinning...

can i remove my swaybar end link and use the car without it to make sure is the sway bar end link the cause of all the clunks on my car?

yes you can - just don't go autocrossing it like that :)
