i was wondering if anyone experiences this problem with the 2006 325i:
As you come to a complete stop, the steering wheel sharply turns counterclockwise.
Anyone know why this happens?

if while applying the brakes there is a constant pull to one side or the other then it is likely a brake issue.
if you are saying it only happens right at the very end (like within the last 2-3 feet of the stop), then i don't know.
and how much does the wheel actually turn if you let it? 10 degrees, 30, 45?

Are you sure it is not a problem with the road you are on?

it happens when i come to a stop and it doesn't happen consistently. The problem occurs randomly.
It turns counterclockwise about 90 degrees.

Do you have active steering? I still suspect road irregularities if it is that random. Try it out on a smooth flat road surface (e.g. in an empty parking lot) and see if it happens, say out of 20 tries or so.

wow, that's weird...
that would have to be some serious road ruts to make the wheel turn 90 degrees... and always counter-clockwise?
i think the parking lot advice is good. try and find a way to replicate and then take it to the shop.
maybe even take a digital camera that has video mode to the parking lot and try to document it in case the shop can't replicate it.
It turns counterclockwise about 90 degrees.

I'm guessing it's just the road, or you might have a hung brake pad if it's not that.
