Is there any way to shuffle all of your iPod songs or can you only shuffle by artist? Btw, I have the newest version of idrive.

Don't have iDrive, so this is how I do it:
From the radio menu, select the playlist (all if you want all songs) or select the artist, then hit the button below the RND selection. That should do it. You will have to do it all over again when you disconnect your iPod unless you make the corresponding selection from your iPod menu.

anyone get this to work on iDrive? Anytime I select random it selects a track at random and then play in order from that point.

Figured it out. Before you plug the iPod in, select the shuffle on the iPod and press play. Then plug it into the connector and select your iPod. For me I press the CD button. It should randomly shuffle them. Works for me.

off topic but just announced the new Microsoft Zune is going to have a HD Radio built into it...........nice feature..... anyone know if the bmw ipod adaptor will work on a zune?

No it will not and I would skip the Zune if I were you.

Exactly, that is what I was trying to say, but I guess I wasn't clear, sorry.
