I have a 2008 535i with just premium package.
I do not have the sport package.
Found this link in another thread and like this rim:
http://www.finishlinewheels.com/BMW/5+SERIES/2008/A-59507U20/
I know next to nothing about tires and rims, so
two questions:
1. Will a low-pro tire fit on this rim? (this is assuming the
rim will fit on my car.....will it?)
2. If so, which low pro tire at tirerack.com to buy?
thanks

What size does your car have as oem fitment? You can play around with different widths and aspect ratios via http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp (best wheel / tire comparison machine on the net) or just go to the www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) site and put your car in and look for +1 or +2 upsizing and see what should fit.
Tire manufacturers list their recommended wheel width fitments for each size (narrow to wide range and a recommended width) so it should be easy at that point to figure out if the tire size you should have (relates to what you currently have) will work on those wheels (due to their width).

People still say "low pro" ?
I'm 33 years old....cut me some slack.
What's the term the teenagers are using nowadays?
Believe it or not, just two weeks ago I learned what the
new definition of "headers" was. (hint: It doesn't facilitate
the transportation of exhaust fumes to the catalytic converter)

Ha.. most people just call them tires these days, as just about any car worth driving comes with a reasonable low profile tire anyways.
Anyways.. I'd be happy to help you with your fitment questions, but you'll have to provide more information.
What is your factory stock tire size?

any profile tire with the correct width will fit. only the width matters for rim fitment, and the profile only matters if you do the opposite and get high profile tires (in which case they may not clear the fenders). search "e60 fitment" and you'll find threads on rim fitment. as for on tire rack, just buy the ones with the best ratings that fit in your price range (all weather tires presumably).
