I successfully paired my phone to my 09 335i Sedan. Occasionally, the green light next to the SOS button on the ceiling will turn on and cause the bluetooth link to to turn off and then automatically pair again (i can visibly see it doing this on the iDrive screen). Sometimes it will even momentarily change the screen on the iDrive to the recent calls screen and then back to the screen it was on.

It's not a big deal and has never happened during a call but I find it annoying, I didn't have this problem with my 07 335i with the same phone and I haven't even brought the car to the dealer yet but my next trip I am bringing it up.

I'm sure it's going to be one of those "unable to duplicate" problems for sure.

Thoughts?

Like experiences?

Quirky car?

I have a 2009 335i and the Bluetooth never does what you describe. At least not that I've noticed. Once it pairs on startup is seems to stay paired. The i-drive screen only shows the signal strength and never switches to recent calls or anything.

Did you wire anything into the fuse box (GPS, radar detector...etc)? If you do, remove it and see if the problem can be replicated.

If the problem disappears, then you might want to wire into the 12V power adaptor instead of through the fuse box.

If the problem remains, chances are either there is an issue with BMW assist or your bluetooth. I am guessing it's your BMW assist which means you have to go to the dealership for warranty work.

No extra things wired in or plugged into the 12v outlets. The only thing I can think of is that I don't get BMW assist over here in Europe and I'm wondering if the car is trying to sync with assist and it's just not there.

I don't know, just a hunch.
