View Full Version : Air temp sensor by blower motor replacing?

I had my external air temp sensor go to -35 and stay there for weeks now. It's not the one that goes in the front by the fog lights in the later cars, but the one that goes basically under the wiper arms on the interior fan motor housing on the cars up to, I believe, 12/88 build dates.

Does anyone know what the replacement is on this...or even where the wiring goes , which disappears somewhere on the other side of the blower motor? Maybe my wiring came loose wherever it plugs into...I just can't follow it back far enough... There was a 'repair kit' for sale but that looks like it's NLA now..

The sensor in the front is for the OBC. The sensor next to wiper arm is for the heating/aircon system.
That are different sensors.
at least on E32, see the pics of all sensors

Maybe i'm confusing these? Check out the link you sent... Picture 2.4 shows the outdoor temp sensor i'm referring to...isn't this the one that sends the outdoor temp to the OBC? It says it's for cars up to 12/88 build date... part # 65811382447. Was this relocating to the front bumper area on the newer cars, or is there two things detecting outdoor temperature?

Nope

There are two sensors used for detecting the outside temp. One is for the Heating/AC system (the one next to the wiper arm) and the other is for the OBC display (the one under the bumper).
