I'm considering purchasing a 2006 BMW 330 xi or 530 xi. Does anyone have any input on these cars? Do they have many problems? Are problems expensive to fix? Any and all input/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

While not an Xi, I did pick up an 06 330i yesterday. I think repairs can get pretty pricey that is why I purchased a CPO so that I have warranty until 100k miles or 6 years. From just browsing a bit on hear it sounds like these cars are pretty reliable overall when taken care of.

If you don't need the extra space in the rear and trunk, go for the 3er. 530 doesn't feel as fast nor as nimble, plus the 3 series is cheaper to maintain on average.
