Please Help!!! last night my speakers made some popping noises

I have a 2004 645CI. last night my speakers made some popping noises as if the speakers were blown out.. so i took my car to a stereo shop and they checked all the fuses and they were all working properly. They have advised me that it might be the amp that is blown out and they suggested me to change it total cost of $1100??? for an amp & some converter from JL audio. is this the only way i can fix this problem??? please help!! thank you

Yup... those amps are not cheap, mostly because (last I checked and this was a while ago), the run a seperate signal wire for highs/mids/lows from the amp to each speaker.

It sounds like they are trying to sell you JL audio equipment, when a BMW amp new (or even one from eBay) maybe cheaper.
