i was wanting to add more sound by doing the golf tee mod but i looked under my car and didnt see a black vacuum hose. i also read other forums and havnt see anything other than 330 335 and older 328. can someone either explain or have pics on how to do this. thanks

That mod is for the 335 with dual exhaust pipes only and does not apply to the single exhaust pipe on the 328.

Are you asking about the e90 328 or something else? My answer is about the e9x 328, no idea about earlier/other models.

I believe the 330i and 135i has the vacuum actuated exhaust flap, but I think that was eliminated in the 328i...please correct me if I am wrong, but look up on RealOEM and you can see it on those, but not the 328. The easy way to check is to look in the exhaust pipes and see if you see the flap.
It is a single muffler system with dual exhaust tips on the one side, unlike the 335 which has 2 separate mufflers. I would imagine that the "golf-tee" mod on those with a single muffler would not have nearly the same result as it does on the 335.

The 335xi acts more like one big muffler with two outlets. There is a crossover pipe between them.
E36 328's had it. My E46 328 doesn't. E46 330's had it. Seems pretty random.
