1) Want to purchase 2 tires for the snow - with front wheel drive should these tires be installed on the front or read for better traction in the snow?
2) Which Michelin tires would you recommend for my 2001 w/sport packg?

You do not want to drive with just two snow tires. You want adequate traction on both front and rear.
It's unsafe to have just two snow tires on the car.

First - your 2001 BMW is NOT front wheel drive.
Second - you need 4 snow tires. The rear tires push the car, the front tires steer. You need to be able to do both of those things.
Third - I can't believe you thought your BMW was front wheel drive.
Fourth - :facepalm

Seriously, how could you not take the time to learn about your automobile? Please, name a non-Mini BMW currently in production or produced in the last thirty years that was front wheel drive. Did your parents purchase this for you? Are you out of high school? Have you finished puberty? You obviously know how to read and type. It would be a good suggestion to read through the owner's manual of your BMW 330ci. You'll learn more about your automobile and not be such a n00b. Knowledge is power.
