Hi. Yesterday I got a 328i sedan, so I am really new to this car. I did not get the supreme package (no nav, bluetooth, etc). My rear view mirror has a light sensor on the bottom. The mirror does not dim when headlights are behind me. I asked the dealer ship and they said since I don't have the deluxe package, I don't have auto dim, and I just have to manually twist the mirror up for night driving.
Is this correct ? I would think that if I didn't have auto dim, that I would at least have a mirror with a button for manual night mode. Is the dealership confused or is there really no mirror with a manual button. I just find this hard to believe.
I tried using search but it seems to be hanging. BTW, my face is sore from smiling, this is such a great car. Thanks!

72 views and no replies, so I will have mercy on you. Twist the red bulb under the mirror, that flips it for night. There is no button. Autodimming mirror is a part of the PREMIUM Package.

It's what a noob calls the premium package.

If you do not have the premium package then the rear view mirror is a manual mirror. For BMW's you turn the knob at the bottom of the mirror (clown nose) and it flips the mirror like other cars with a lever at the bottom.

The glass used in all the mirrors has the hole for the sensor for auto-dimming, but not all mirrors have the sensor.

Twist the red bulb under the mirror,Ok, now I feel stupid. But thanks for the info. Maybe the salesman actually meant twist the knob instead of the mirror.
What is the "supreme package"?I thought that was a BMW term. Several of my friends, when I said I got a 328i, asked me if it was the base model or supreme / maximal package.
Sorry that I was unable to reply to the original poster, as I am lactose intolerant. You, my friend, need a visit to the lactose intolerance museum.

Thanks for the info, I will be reading this forum and learning about my new UTM (Ultimate Transportation Machine).
