I have noticed when I take my car up on the hill, the engine will start ticking up there. I make sure my oil level is right before I go. Once I come off the hill (oh sorry, hill = mountian road with over 300 curves in a short distance), my car will stop ticking.

I figure this is something the auto x's may know. It is starting to get annoying and I can't figure out why it is doing it. Any ideas?

i would say vanos unit dieing but you have a 92 so no vanos. im going to say you have a lifter thats dieing and it only makes the noise when your pushing the engine. it could also be your cat. where is the ticking comming from, top end, bottom end, front, back, etc.

it could be because of a step grade and not picking up enough oil maybe? depends were the tick is comming from.

top end ticking. Sounds like a it did when a lifter would tick on a chevy 350. Like I said, only does it in the curves when running a spiritied pace. Quits doing it when I get back on the straighter roads and drive more relaxed.
