Ok, I just bought the car two days ago and it seemed ok at the time. Anyway, this morning when I went to start the car, the starter didn't engaged. I mean I heard the starter but engine didn't turned on. after few efforts, it started. It happen again this afternoon but this time after making some noise it started the engine. Is this the starter problem or the flywheel (or is it flexplate?!) teeth worn out? or is there any trick I hope. I am kind of concern now.

Well, I turn the ignition to on position all the way, Starter moves, make noise but engine doesn't turn. It sound like the starter doesn't engage into the flywheel to turn the engine on.

sounds like the starter solenoid. Probably need to replace the starter.

are you sure the starter is making noise? you sure it's not the fuel pump priming up?

I don't think it is the fuel pump. It sounds like grinding, Does fuel pump make such a loud noise? and why it does it some times?
check you battery first .
What do you mean by checking battery? would you explain more. I am new here. thanks.

It was a private party. Second owner who had the car since 12000 mile on the clock, now 88000 miles. Car has all the records and maintenance data. Car is pretty clean and I got it with very good price therefore I rather to fix it if it is not a major thing.
