I have a 93 325is that now has a 2.8 in it. I just fixed the power steering leak but I have an oil leak that is driving me crazy. It seems to blow oil on the transmission and the exhaust. I know you cant diagnose this without being here, But is there any problem areas I should take a closer look at ? Its an automatic. Any ideas would be appreciated. I have been under the car while it is running, Cant spot the problem.

Hmm..sounds like the oil pan gasket or the valve cover gasket. Not necessarily "blowing" onto the exhaust, but close enough to get hot and smoke, and the movement of the air pushes it back to the transmission. The latter of the two gaskets is an easy DIY, the oil pan is a PITA...

Good Luck with finding it!

I have made sure all bolts are tight to spec on the oil pan, It doesn't seem to be leaking. When I said exhaust, I meant around the cats. Transmission pans are covered. I'm going to look at that oil pan again more closely LOL, Thanks

Take a look around the base of the oil filter housing too.

Stay on top of it. Nothing complicates this more then a long neglected oil leak that's now impossible to find because the oil is all over the place. Engine bright has saved me many times in the past for this exact thing.
Not sure about BMWs but my F-150 is notorious for rear main seals leaking. Knock on wood I haven't had the problem in a while.
