Picked up a set of style42 rims off of a 5 series and am wondering their offset and will they fit my e36. Should i stretch the tires?

No offense dude (or should I say "dood"? lol), but why are you asking AFTER you bought the wheels instead of before hand? LOL

haha you should say dood. but i picked them up for $350 and am refinishing the lips so i can make money off them even if they dont fit. To tell the truth i had them mounted on the car with 235/45/17 tires and they were rubbing. I think they will fit with either lower profile or stretch tires.

I am asking this becuase i keep seeing offset issues with 5 series rims on e36's. Maybe its that i have no idea excactly what offset is and am having trouble finding info on it...

235/45/17 seems like a pretty tall sidewall. I would assume that a 235/40/17 would work quite a bit better.

I run 17 530 spot wheel on the race car with 245-40-17 bfg r1's which actually measure 260mm wide. They will fit up front only with added camber. In the rear they will rub with anything bigger than a 225-45-17. Is the style 42 the 530 sport wheel or 528 sport wheel?

the 235/40/17 will fit better and then roll the fender
