Hey all---

So, on my 335i I noticed I can open all the windows and sunroof by holding down the open button. BUt holding down the lock button doesn't close the sunroof??? I found that odd.... there's so many more situations where you want to close your windows and sunroof with a button then open them...

is there a way to do this?

In the US that feature is not available without some add-on device. Other countries have the remote open and close but us here in the US do not, most speculate litigation issues and just poor common sense from the majority of drivers here.

Yeah it is a legal thing in North America. The only way to close them from outside the car is to use the metal key that is in the fob to lock the door and hold it in the lock position until they start shutting.

SEARCH!!! This topic has been covered MANY times. Mryakan is right. But also, if you have Comfort Access, you can hold your finger on the lock "button" on the door handle and that will also close all of the windows and sunroof.

I could be wrong on this, but I believe if you have the alarm option it enables this feature. I had a friend with an old 530 (mid 90's) and the car closed all the windows when arming the alarm.

I'm afraid you are wrong on this (no offense intended). Having the alarm doesn't change a thing. Many things have changed since the mid nineties due to increased litigation risk or new laws. Heck my friend used to always lock our hands with his windows, there was no pinch protection back then either.
That being said, I heard of aftermarket modules that may be able to enable this functionality. No indication to the impact they may have on your warranty though.
