Was just wondering if there was a stronger remote transmitter for the E34. I was walking back from the market today and litterally had the walk right infront of the car for the transmitter to work. Sometimes it'll work right off the bat, but lately its been doing this. Just changed the key's batteries too.

Mine does that also. I'll literally be holding the remote over the front windshield and it'll take a few presses to unlock.

clean it if it is the switchblade. Also the receiver under the roof.

and hold the receiver into direction of the roof, not somewhere else.

That is quite strange. I can usually use mine through several walls, if need be. At my old house, we used to have a running game to see how many walls I could lock or unlock the car through. I think I got up to 5, which ended up being about 30-40 feet.

if you put the remote to your head (sounds ridiculous, I know), the range is boosted by ~300-400%

:rofl

I just raplaced the battery in my key and the range is still very poor. I thought it could have something to do with the cold, but I guess the 5'er is just trying to make me look like a fool (by putting the key to my head).

If someone figures it out, inform us please! Mine hardly works at all!

Where is the receiving antenna? Perhaps it is folded, kinked, dirty or loose? I think mine is under the back seat. The 525i may be different than the 540i.
