If I decide to swap out my sport suspension for a different suspension, will it void my warranty for any reason? I've never done any modifications to any of my vehicles so I have no idea how that works.

Are you talking lowering it? It shouldn't have any affect on anything, but realize that say your alignment isn't able to go into spec anymore because you went too low or some geometry is messed up they can say it was your parts.
But your dealer shouldn't care.
I have to ask what is your goal of "new suspension" most people get new shocks and dont' need them since they aren't going on a track. If you just want it lower, springs are cheaper and work well.

Actually I'm looking into putting a regular suspension on the car as opposed to the sport suspension. I live in L.A. and the roads are just too rough for it, for my taste anyway. I know everyone will think I'm crazy but I love the car except for the ride. The area I test drove it had nice, smooth roads. But back in the city it's another story. Not sure what to do at this point.

You are probably better off switching out the run flat tires. That is what is making the ride feel so hard. I have a buddy that did that with his 1 series convertable. He put on regular tires and improved the ride by about 30%... Something to think about.

^^^^^^ My thoughts exacly! Try changing out the Run Flats.. That alone will show a very noticable difference in ride comfort.

Yeah I did that already and it did improve the ride somewhat, but not to the point of what I was hoping. Thanks for the replies.

I must say that's a strange thing to do considering the suspension is one of the the key reasons why a BMW is so great. Did yo get the sport pkg? If yes then why not switch to a non-sport. Either way, without the run flats I think you will get used to it eventually. I drove some Japanese makes that had softer suspension but were far less effective at eliminating the discomfort, sound and feel of bumps. Just watch out what you wish for- when you mess with perfection you'll likely end up with something worse.

Too rough? Hmmm. Why not put some smaller wheels on, 17" will make a big difference with the larger side walls. I drive all over the place and never feel like it's too rough. Switching to non -RFT made it softer even when going to 19s.
