I have a 95' 318ic. I just had some upholstery work done on my drivers seat. I don't know if it is related, but I noticed as soon as I picked up the car that the air bag dash light is on. Can anyone tell me what to do. Is this an unrelated problem, can I reset it? Thanks!

Check the seatbelt buckle or make sure all the wires are plugged in under the seat.

If they unplugged your seat without disconnecting your battery, it may have set off your airbag light. I would take it back to them and have them either reimburse you for having the light reset, or have them send it out to be reset. You cannot reset it yourself unless you have an airbag scan tool.

ouch! They did such a nice job on the upholstery I'd hate to hit them up for the reset. Thanks for the info, hopefully it's just connecting wires like the first response but
heifetz17 sound pretty confident. I hope the reset won't cost more than the upholstery work. Thanks for the responses.

My local garage reset it for me for free, it's a 5 minute procedure with the right tool but make sure everything is plugged back in first!

5 minute procedure
That is if it takes 4 minutes to find the tool. Most places will charge +$50.
