I found a 1992 325i (production date 09/1991) with slight damage on the front. I'm interested in buying the car, fixing it, and possibly swapping an s50 in the future.

I've never owned an e36 earlier than 1995, what are some of the major oddities that I should be aware of?

Well... I've owned e36's before, and own one now. I don't need to know anything about the car itself overall, this was actually a thread asking about the oddities of the very first e36s. I know that it uses r12 rather than r134a, the suspension is slightly different, and that the engine didn't come with vanos (swapping out the engine anyhow).

I know there were quite a few oddities in the design when they were first released, just hoping I could get insight on any major structural differences I may not be aware of. I'd like to know of anything beforehand so that I can prepare ahead, you know. If not, then just let the thread die. No need in bumping it back up by stating "search it" so that more people can come in, see what you wrote and repeat.
