In my research I've come across a number of keyless entry/alarm systems for the E34s. My problem is most of them do not specifically state that they will fit an early (m20) 525i.

What is a good (And affordable ~$150) solution to my problem?

The only function I really care about is lock and unlock. Getting signals to flash is a plus.

I've got a cheap JC Whitney Unit on my e28 that works fine, and I only paid about $30 for it.

Thanks!

Any key less entry will work on any car. They are not model or manufacture branded. DEI, clifford, code alarm, scytek are popular brands.

Their Stellar brand carries a keyless entry system, I believe its the BMW45. I have one in my 90 535i and haven't had any complaints. You can buy a 30amp relay and wire in the parking light signal. I think I got mine for under $80 from BMP. Autoloc sells theirs for $99 on their site, I'm sure you can get it for less.
