i have a 95 525i and i live in new york. unfortunately, the car sits out day and night, so it's being abused by the terrible wind and cold air. when i start the car, starts right up, and i usually let it warm up for about 3-5 mins, then when i try and turn the steering wheel to get out of the parking spot it makes a pretty big squeal and a lot of noise. anyone have this? anything i can do for it?

Check your PS fluid and the tension on the PS pump belt

how do you check the belt?

Get under the car and check the tension between the crank pulley and power steering pulley. It should have about 3/4th" at most of flex in the belt. Just push on the belt with normal pressure. If you feel its to loose, your tensioner is shot.

If you lay under the car the pump is the one with the belt going to it that is towards the driver's side of the car. FYI.
