Hello All, I'm coming to BF.c from MyE28dotcom where I've been posting for a couple years now... I've kinda graduated a bit to the E34 and I'm excited to have my first one. It's an 89 525i (M20). I'll be changing the timing belt next week, but in all honesty, other than the F*CKING deer I hit TWO days after I bought it, it's in GREAT daily driver shape. Got it for $750, black on black. I'll post some pics soon...it's currently 5 degrees outside and quite windy.

Anyway, I'm starting to think about suspension options. Are the specific springs and shocks for the early body e34? M20? If not, are all springs and shocks equal in fit?

I'm a big fan of bilstein sports and Konis as far as shocks go, and I swear by Eibach and H&R.

So really my question is, do the "E34" springs and shocks combos discriminate based on year or model?

Thanks for the help, and I'm just now getting a preliminary hold on the search function, so be patient.

Check the FAQ. If you want the front lower you can use 3mm spring pads instead of stock 9mm or run none at all. Welcome to the forum. I lurk the general conversation section at mye28 frequently. Just remember to hit it while its still warm. lol.
