I came across these tires while looking for replacements for the Pantera a while back. They look pretty cool, but I can't find any tire ratings for them.
I'm thinking of putting them on a set of M5 wheels I acquired.
Have any of you out in Bimmerlund had any experience with these?

Many at the X5world.com community have them and I'm planning to get them for my X5 at the end of the year (that's when I will need tires)

I had Vredestein on my VW Beetle years and years ago. They've been around a while and that's all I can say about them.

I bought a full set of Vredestein for my E36 M3 at Tires Plus about 1 1/2 years ago.. cause that's what was available at the moment in an all-weather tire. Much better for bad weather than high performance only summer tires - they kept me on the road in the rockies during a fairly intense snow/slush storm last winter.
Nice looking tire and tread pattern, really good at channeling water in a rainstorm, fairly quiet, decent directional stability, good tread wear. The not so good: its not a high performance summer only tire; you get some extra body movement with the slightly 'squishy' sidewall (over the stock MXX3), steering response is kind of rubbery, lateral adhesion in the dry is ok, not great.
If you must occasionally drive in bad weather, they are far better than a dry weather/summer only high performance tire. If you want maximum or even really good cornering performance/steering response, then no way.

They are Italy based, and I know they make awesome rubber for bikes, not sure about what their automotive line is like. But from my experience with them for 5+ years, quality is unsurpassed.

First of all, it's a dutch company, not italian:) The only thing Italian about those tires is the design (Made by Giugiaro, who is an Italian).
Second, they make great tires. I had Sportrac 3's on my E34, they had great grip, and they last long (unless you're doing burnouts all the time ofcourse:D) They're really quiet as well.
Now I've got an E39, and as soon as I'm putting my summer wheels on, I'm going to get some Ultracs. (now running Bridgestone Blizzak's).
All in all, Vredestein makes great tires. The quality and performance is similar to brands as Continental, Bridgestone, Goodyear etc.

I have only heard good things about them at Corvette Forum. Too bad they don't have tires wide/tall enough for my second Z06 :(

Thanks for the replies.
I've done some more research on these tires, it appears that Vredestein is a pretty big tire outfit in Europe and in the 70's to early 80's they were sold thru Tire Rack and other tire store chains. For some reason they've pretty much disappeared from the U.S.
The guys at Corvetteforum.com really seem to like these tires compared to the Goodyear runflats. After hearing that from a performance minded group of car guys, that says a lot.
When I do get around to getting tires for these wheels, the Vredestein Sessentas look pretty promising.

Heard of them, but that's about it. Wish I could be more help!
