View Full Version : Will these tires fit?

I want to run these tires in back, and I want to know if they will fit before I go have them mounted.
They're 255/50/R19 on 19 inch rims.
I need them to clear the rear wheel well.
Edit:
Alright, new question. The guy I got them from said he'll swap them for some Potenza's, 245/40r19. Right now I have 255/35r19. Will these stretch enough to put them on? Will a tire shop do it for me or are they going to refuse to stretch them?
Would it look funny to have 40 series in the front and 35 in the back? Or funnier with 255 in front and 245 in back. Have some decisions to make.

It is thick. Think it's gonna clear it?

Dunno, stock is 26 inches in diameter, whereas the 50/19s are 29 inches

I dont think it's going to make it.
It is pretty thick, but it's also not as wide of a tire.
try one and see before you do the other. post the results.
M-Sport? non M?

If I lay them on the ground next to the car, it appears they wont fit. But then again, the rim will lift up with the tire on it.
The overall tire diameter is 28" not 29"
How do you tell if it's sport or not? I've been wondering, just got the car.

I think the profile is to high. I believe the profile should be 30 or 35.

The ones that were on it were 35's. But of course, I couldn't afford to buy 2 new 35 profile tires and $400 a piece. So I settled, not thinking they not clear the wheel wells.

Our Speedos are already off on all BMW's by 7-8%. It says you're doing 80 when you're doing 70.

265x30x19 is the correct size for the rear.

I realize that, but right now that's not an option. Lol

Put 255 in the back and 245 in the front even if that means the front will be 40 series and back will be 35?

You guys do know that tire size calculators are free...AND...very easy to find on the internet.
Here's a really good tire size calculator...input the original tire size and compare it to the sizes you've mentioned: http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp
If the tire is 3% (+/-) larger or smaller...not only will the speedometer/odometer be off...you can also throw off your ABS/ASC+T/DSC....as well as the TCM (tranny control module). Those system use specific calculations and going way beyond wheel/tire size specs can disrupt their calculations. For example, upshift intervention is sent to the TCM by the traction control system on our cars...so a messed up ASC/DSC can also have ramifications on your transmission.
Do it at your own risk...but if you start posting problems with your ASC+T/DSC light, ABS light, Brake light, etc.... don't be surprised.

I was checking mine with a GPS and at 80mph, I am actually doing about 76. Mine isnt off as much as i thought it was. I figured the faster i went, the more it would be off, but for me it seemed like it was about 3-4 mph off throughout 20-80mph.

Put 255 in the back and 245 in the front even if that means the front will be 40 series and back will be 35?
19" staggered wheel fitment usually run 245/35-19 on 9" front and 275/30-19 on 10" rear.
The 245/40 up front may be too tall, depending on what kind of suspension you're running, you may rub on the wheel well liner on close-to or full lock turns

That's my exact setup. i dont rub ever... dont be afraid of a 30 series tire either. it's low, but you drive carefully and you're fine. i drive like a crazy person at times and havnt had problems.
just go with the size that you know works.
