Paid in full like everyone else here (cash purchase). These cars cost less than $10000 even for the most pristine, mine was 7+tax off the lot (and about 2 in repairs and upgrades so far). If you need any sort of substantial loan for a 10k car, you shouldn't get a 10k car.

I disagree. Those who are into investment banking know that there are better things to do with that 10k, and still be able to service the small payment easily.

Pretty much my thoughts... If you can take a 4.75% personal loan out, why not borrow? My money yields more than that sitting where it sits... which is no one's business. And neither is the location of my title. :shifty

Hey Dan. I'm not ballin either so don't feel bad. Picked mine up for $12,500 back in June with 54,000 miles. Took out a 6k loan for 3 years. Payment is 180 a month. Not bad.

unfortunately yes, and its mostly repairs so far. however, i don't mind buying a bmw at a low price and making it "right". i inevitably have to get a car up to my own personal spec anyway, so I don't end up doing it anyway.

That seems to be the popular thing to do these days, I wonder how long its going to take for airlines/cc companies/ect. to lose their asses giving away all these miles. I know its nothing new, but seems to be gettin crazy how many miles you can get now.
My friend just signed up for a card at the begining of September, they gave him 20K miles just to sign up, and on top of that he's earning 40K - 60K miles a month! He went to London for new years and is currently in Sweden, then flies home on Tuesday, this is his 2nd trip over there in 2 months, basically free except for personal expenses.
Makes me wish I flew, it would be fun to take vacations like that.

Bought mine a while ago from a used car dealer, because I didn't want to pay 20k+ for an inferior car that I wouldn't have felt as good about driving. BMWs are one of my passions. It's my money, and if I am going to spend that much I want to be sure it is on something I will enjoy.

Well not hard cash. A cashiers check from my bank account. All cash is not safe in any transaction. You must have some sort of paper trail. Cashiers check is better and much safer to carry when using the NYC subway system. I remember it like it was yesterday.
I took the NJ transit train from Jersey to Penn station NY and then took the subway to Queens. The Fiance was with me and I had a tear down my eye while driving the car home. It was a great sensation.
The great thing about my bimmer is that it brung along many new friends and a huge community who Im proud to be a part of. No matter what the car cost, it was worth it due to all the cool people I have met so far. All the cool meets. All the smart ass remarks and crappy food. Good times!
